Blagovest Foundation created 8 jobs for the students
July 16, 2014 - Affordable Smart Summer Day Camp for every family!
With great pleasure we met the Honourable guest, Member of the Parliament of Canada; Costas Menegakis at the Summer Camp. Paying close attention and acting with kindness, the representative of Richmond Hill in the Parliament learned about how the program Government of Canada Summer Student Job works in practice. Thanks to the government grant given to Blagovest Foundation, we managed to create eight job positions for universities' and high school students. This grant helps reduce the cost of the camp and makes it affordable to families with low or moderate income without compromising the high standards of the provided services, which include French language classes, math, science, arts and physical activities for the children. MP Costas Menegakis spoke to the students - camp counsellors and campers as well as their parents, and even played a round of basketball with the kids. The children, flattered by the attention given to them by the Member of the Parliament, presented their crafts to Costas.
